Join community-led Exeter Seed Bank for a seed-packing session focusing on green manures like phacelia, clovers and vetch.

Sown in autumn/winter as a cover crop that resists frost, they play an important role in boosting soil health through nitrogen fixing and storing carbon.

In a cheeky take on the global carbon offsetting industry where companies ‘offset’ their emissions with credits, we will be issuing ‘Offset Certificates’ to people who commit to growing a 2 square meter green manure crop over bare soil, thus off-setting some of their own carbon emissions this winter!

Open to all ages, our seed-packing sessions offer a relaxed space for talk, a cuppa, and catch-ups. We will also share updates on other Exeter Seed Bank projects including our new Community Soil Testing Kits, featured in the FUTURES exhibition on Sunday.

We also discuss other growing projects in the city and compare notes on the summer growing season. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
